MissionsFaith-Westwood believes that Christians are called to take their faith into action outside of the church building. Scripture shows us that God has a special place in His heart for the poor and oppressed. God calls the church and individual Christians to acts of mercy and also acts that bring justice to people and communities.
Our desire is to partner with ministries that support and align with the mission, vision and values of Faith-Westwood. We are committed to responding to the scriptural commandments:
- To Carry out the Great Commission, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20.
- To minister to the total human need, "And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward." Matthew 10:42. "I tell you the truth, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to Christ will certainly not lose his reward." Mark 9:41.
- To reach our friends and family, our community, our nation and our world, "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:8.
Our church accomplishes this through several different local mission projects, state-side missions, and global missions. For more information on how you or your small group can get involved, check out the link that interests you.
